Abstract

Although its unique geographical location and one of the oldest cultures in Europe and the world our cultural heritage is little known outside Bulgaria. Currently, modern information and communication technologies have not been used in their full potential to promote and advertise it. This article presents an intelligent touristic guide, known as TG, that takes into account various factors, such as the tourist's preferences, location, time available, and the presence and location of cultural and historical objects in the area, in order to propose virtual or real cultural and historical routes. The guide is being implemented as an Internet of Thing (IoT) application. Furthermore, the general architecture and individual components of the touristic guide are presented in detail. Some remarks about the implementation of the TG software are given as well.
